VARTA® automotive company is a division of Johnson Controls Inc. (USA), a world leader in production of the car internal tooling and the biggest world manufacturer of automotive batteries.
The head company of VARTA® automotive is VB Autobatterie GmbH, with the 80 per cent majority stake of Jonson Controls in VB Autobatterie GmbH, and a 20 per cent stake of Robert Bosch GmbH in VB Autobatterie GmbH. VARTA® automotive affiliated companies are located in many European countries, with its headquarters in Hannover (Germany).
VARTA® automotive manufactures automotive batteries in seven European assembly plants located in Germany, Czech Republic, France, Austria, and Spain. Every third battery made by VARTA® automotive is supplied to OE manufactures. The company organises European distribution and manufactures automotive batteries for all major car producers in Europe, and is an absolute leader in its field, staying ahead of its competitors. VARTA® automotive is the leading supplier for the European independent aftermarket customers as well. VARTA® batteries are also exported to the automotive markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
